This web site is for those new to home growing or those wishing to get into home growing cannabis. This is exactly the position I was in 5 years ago and hopefully my experiences will help you become a better grower.
First of all, I wish to emphasize this site's emphasis on the home grower. I have nothing against commercial growers, but I am not attempting to maximize profit but maximize the quality of my product since it is primarily consumed by myself and a few close friends.
There are excellent resources/references already on the web. From the very beginning, I have relied heavily on GrowWeedEasy as a first stop on most issues. There is no need for me to try and duplicate these excellent resources. I do wish however to address the practical issues with going from total novice to a grower of high quality cannabis.
Where do you find high quality seeds? Are feminized seeds worthwhile? Is DNA testing worthwhile and reliable for determining the sex of seedlings.
For young seedlings, what about temperature, humidity, watering and other maintenance?
Wikipedia defines a manifold as:

Learn to build efficient manifolds for channeling nutrients from the roots to the remainder of the plant.
In simple terms, the inverse square law states that any energy or force will have a drastic dropoff in strength as it travels further away from the point source. See the limits this places on lighting. See why this encourages horizontal growth rather than vertical.
Learn to train your plants to grow in a manner that gets the most from your lighting. What are the plusses and minusses associated with SCROG training? What about defoliation training.
